We’re off to see the Wizard…err maybe Lady Liberty

I am heading off to the Big Apple next week.  Attending a class to get certified to give the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.  Basically a personality test…Apparently as I read the pre work…it is allot more than that, but I won’t bore you with the details.  My intention for taking this class, is to be able to give the test to couples so they can learn more about themselves and their spouse.  To help aide communication by helping them to understand the differences in how they make decisions, perceive the world, and react to their perceptions.  The tool is also widely used in corporate America to help work centers cooperate by better understanding the individuals that work together.  But enough about that…Here I sit being annoyed by a small 4 year old who is playing loudly, trying to plan and pack for this trip.  I am trying to pack a weeks worth of professional looking clothes into a carry-on (I hate checking luggage!!)  Did you ever notice that civies(especially professional types) take more room than a uniform or 2?  Like I am bringing 4 different ties…I wouldn’t want to be caught wearing the same tie twice…where as the military expects you to wear only one tie…very day!  Not to mention slacks and shirts!  Yeah in the military you can go like 2 weeks with one pair of pants and one shirt, you only need to change your t-shirt and underwear (sometimes you can get away without even changing that!)  So whilst I am trying to figure out how best to pack all my ties so that they don’t get wrinkled or sqarshed…I stumbled upon a cool website titled The Art of Manliness  They have allot of cool info on how to be Manly!  The article I stumbled upon, How to pack a bag while traveling  was awesome and helpful!  So now I must go and practice what they preached…pray for the safety of my ties as I travel along!
